About Me

I'm a software developer that specializes in building web and mobile applications. I have 5 years of professional experience developing all kinds of software, from enterprise iOS apps to SaaS applications that serve hundreds of thousands of users.

I like to focus on backend architecture and building solutions that scale, but could be considered a full-stack engineer as I have experieince in all facets of application devlelopment. Although I studied Computer Science in college, I'm mostly self taught and have been building websites and apps since junior high.

I currently live in Grand Rapids, Michigan with my girlfriend Tess and our golden retriever Jimmy. When I'm not in front of a computer screen I'm usually mountain biking or relaxing on the shores of Lake Michigan.

About This Site

My personal website has always servered as a playground for me to experiement with new technologies. For this iteration I decided to try out Gatsby, a static site generator that uses React and GraphQL. For the full JAMstack experience I paired it with NetlifyCMS, a client-side CMS that stores content in the site's Github repo via API. The repository isn't publicly avaliable, but I'm happy to share the source for this iteration upon request.
